The key to a good portrait is composition, lighting and background. We at ProPhotos ensure that each portrait of our clients has these essential elements. We then build on these elements with hair, makeup and the right angle or viewpoint. No matter whether we shoot in a studio or outdoors, a good portrait requires these elements.

Over the last five years we, at ProPhotos, have seen an enormous increase in demand for portraits. Photographic portraits cover a variety of subjects from singles and couples to family and friends as well as groups, children and babies in both formal and informal settings. Corporate portraits are often required for business or ID cards, as well as job seekers being required to submit a portrait photograph with their application. Recently there has been a trend, particularly on cruise ships, for the applicant to supply photographs for the position. At our photographic portrait studio we offer tips on hair and make-up to ensure you get the right results.

We have a variety of backdrops and props to enhance the shoot, but this does not mean we do all this in the studio. We can achieve great results from outside locations using the natural surroundings. All this is entirely up to you.

ProPhotos also specialise in black and white photography and can arrange for your favourite photographs to be processed this way. We have portrait packages which incorporate black and white as well as sepia tones for that warm, rustic feeling.
